The ultimate URL cleaner. Extract hostnames, get base domains, and clean up messy link lists for SEO and analysis.
Working with large lists of backlinks, referral logs, or competitor sites often involves messy URLs with parameters, protocols, and file paths. To analyze this data, you usually just need the Domain Name or Hostname. Manually editing thousands of links is impossible. Our tool automates this process.
This tool is ideal for:
| Scenario | Input Example | Result (Hostname) |
|---|---|---|
| SEO Audits | https://blog.moz.com/posts/seo | blog.moz.com |
| Ad Campaigns | http://www.facebook.com/ads/manager?id=123 | www.facebook.com |
| Log Analysis | https://api.server.io/v1/users | api.server.io |
Simplify your datasets for accurate reporting.
Whether you have 10 links or 10,000, our tool processes them instantly in your browser. No need to use complex Excel formulas or write Python scripts just to clean up a list of websites.
Regex-powered precision parsing.
Copy directly to Excel or Sheets.
By converting all links to their base hostname, you can easily deduplicate your list (using our Remove Duplicates tool) and see exactly how many unique domains you are dealing with.
If you choose "Extract Hostnames", the protocol is removed (e.g., just `google.com`). If you choose "Extract Full Origins", the protocol is kept (e.g., `https://google.com`).
It keeps subdomains by default (e.g., `blog.example.com`). If you want to simplify further, you can use the "Remove www." button to clean up common prefixes.
Yes. All parsing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your URL lists are never sent to our servers.
